Biffar | one: Biffar presents purist, timeless door design for architects and consumers

Edenkoben: Biffar unveils the purist Biffar | one apartment door, designed by Studio F. A. Porsche. The Biffar | one won a special Home&Trend Award as “Trend Product of the Year 2017/2018”.

The unique safety offered by Biffar meets the elegantly purist lines of Studio F. A. Porsche. The result is an apartment door that marries functionality and design at the very highest level. In Biffar | one, Biffar has created a unique all-rounder that brooks no compromises, for design-minded architects and consumers – handcrafted in Germany.

Biffar is renowned for its unique security. And now the company is entering into a new class in pared-down, minimalist design in a collaboration with Studio F. A. Porsche. Frameless aluminium door panels with metal and wood surfaces ensure the familiar quality of thermal and noise protection combined with an individual and homely look. If preferred, the
Biffar | one is also available in a two-wing version.

As Brigitte Biffar, managing director of Biffar, explains: “Our doors have always stood for trailblazing door quality, maximum functionality and exceptional design. Through our collaboration with Studio F. A. Porsche, we are looking to excite our customers even more about the Biffar brand. Together, we have created a door that demonstrates our pioneering role in the sector thanks to the emotional functionality of its design.”

The interior view of the Biffar | one is equally compelling, given its elegant, stripped-back design, while the exterior is discreetly set off by an aluminium pilaster strip. Modern metal surfaces, fine woods and high-grade materials combine to form a harmonious entity.

That achievement was also recognised and honoured by the expert jury for the Home&Trend Award: the Biffar | oneachieved the distinction of being “Trend Product of the Year 2017/2018” on 15.09.2017, after being assessed against the criteria of Functionality, Innovation, Design, Product Benefits and Quality of Materials.
This was no great surprise, because this innovation at Biffar realises a special conjunction of purist design, unique functionality and a wide range of security options: from concealed spy-cams and safety catches to state-of-the-art Smart Home options featuring app control, fingerprint technology and automatic locks.

The newly launched product has been attracting plenty of attention, and not just since winning the “Trend Product of the Year 2017/2018” award. Even ahead of the official product launch, various projects in China were already showing significant interest in the Biffar | one.

In addition to the Biffar | one apartment door, the collaboration between Biffar and
Studio F. A. Porsche has also developed the Biffar | neo front door.

BIFFAR AWARDED SUCCESS TECHNOLOGY PRIZE

Biffar only ever uses sustainable materials of the highest quality for manufacturing its front doors, apartment doors, copper doors, aluminium windows, patio doors and canopies. The company specialises in burglar-resistant and energy-efficient construction for doors in timeless individual style.

On 29 September 2015, the company was awarded the SUCCESS technology prize for these innovative products. Developments at the company include thermal break aluminium profiles in a “Klipssystem”, a system which guarantees all-over insulation and does not cause warping. Ultra-strong burglar protection is provided by using specially welded aluminium profiles, particularly in the doorframe.

This new door concept allows virtually all customer requirements with regard to size and design to be met – all without compromising customer expectations in respect of insulation and security.

In the course of its development work, Biffar has collaborated with Dr. Heiko Andrä and Mr. Wolfgang Oberlinger in the Flow & Material Simulation Department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM) in Kaiserslautern. Now the company’s entire production has been converted for manufacturing the new door design. The company’s continuous ongoing development and innovative thinking are reflected in numbers as well: at the end of 2014, Biffar posted an increase in sales of some 14.5% and recruited four more employees.

The SUCCESS technology prize was presented by Business Secretary Eveline Lemke accompanied by a board member of regional investment bank, Investitions- und Strukturbank Rheinland-Pfalz (ISB). It was followed on 10 October by a visit by the Business Secretary to the company’s headquarters in Edenkoben in southwest Germany. There she gained an insight into the company’s production technology and met with the people who work behind the scenes.
